EXPERIENCES AND  RETRO GAME

USER GUIDE

WHAT ARE THE PRE-REQUISITES

  • Experiences and retrospectives in Neelix are driven by "Team Group". This group can be at the overall team, squad, or specific to a particular project.

  • Click on the Experiences Tab from contextual search screen

  • Select Options menu in order to configure the group

  • Specify group name and the name for numeric ranking (aka weight of experiences) - you may alike these to "Points" or be adventurous with "Apples", "Oranges", "Shwarz", etc

HOW TO RECORD AN EXPERIENCE

  • Option 1: From the Experience tab click on button with the Spock Hand

  • Option 2: From within the Jira Issue Screen widget click on the button with the Spock Hand

  • Specify the commentary for the experience

  • Select category for the experience

  • Specify numeric value for the weight of the experience; For instance a drag that doubled the effort of a particular task can be reflected in the negative weight equal to the estimate. Weights can also be emotional.

HOW TO CONTROL PUBLICATION STATE / PRIVACY OF EXPERIENCES

  • By default, the experiences are visible to other team members

  • User may unpublished the experience in order to spend time fine tuning the wording or simply retract. This is done from the Experiences tab of the Contextual search screen

  • User may also over-write the text in the "reported by" field. This way uncomfortable feedback may be delivered in a more safe manner. By the same token, this capability allows mature teams to introduce humour into the feedback loop - for instance have the "reported by" read as the "Well wisher" or "IT overlord".
